OUR STORY
When I remember my grandmother I think about the dedication she had for teaching. She was a passionate, dedicated, and faithful woman who believed that everyone should have equal access to education. Her main goal was to serve others. I looked up to her as a role model because of the idea she possessed of always giving back.
The idea of this project is born with the intention of wanting to help the community of San Miguel in Cuenca, Ecuador.I have personally traveled to Cuenca many times and I have seen and understood the privilege that I have in the United States. My parents immigrated to the United States with the dream of creating new and better opportunities for their children. With this in mind, the purpose of this project is to contribute in a positive manner.
Proyecto Dalia is rooted in the belief that we all have an inherent responsibility to make a meaningful difference in our community.
We have the support of the organization "Miss Quinceañera" with which we will work arduously throughout the year to collect funds and do school supply drives. We also want to help students with the purchase of their uniforms.
Nuestra Historia
Cuando me acuerdo de mi abuela pienso en la dedicacion que ella tuvo para sus estudiantes. Ella era una mujer dedicada, apasionada, y religiosa la cual creeia fuertemente en el aceso igualitario a la educaccion.
La idea de este proyecto nace con la intención de poder ayudar a la comunidad de San Miguel. Personalmente, he viajado a Cuenca muchas veces y he tenido la oportunidad de reconocer el privilegio que tengo en EEUU. Mis padres emigraron a los Estados Unidos con el sueño de crear nuevas y mejores oportunidades para sus hijos. Con esto en mente mi propósito con este proyecto es poder aportar de manera positiva a esta comunidad en la cual mi padre residió por muchos años.
Tenemos el apoyo de la organización “Miss Quinceañera” con la cual trabajaremos arduamente durante el año para poder recaudar fondos para hacer entrega de útiles escolares. También deseamos ayudar a los estudiantes con el pago de sus uniformes.
